Mobile alloy repair process

On our mobile unit we offer repairs to kerbed, scuffed or damaged alloys as well as simply a change of colour if you fancy a change.  We are not merely a smart repairers; we break the bead on the tyre and refurbish the whole face of the wheel, not just the damaged area, using the latest UV cure technology. Using this process enables us to provide the most durable, long lasting results with a 12 month guarantee.

The process to repair wheels on the mobile van is as follows:

We jack up the vehicle and remove the damaged wheels.

The tyres are deflated and the bead is broken- this means that the tyre is moved about an inch off the rim to enable us to repair all damage.

The wheels are then sanded and repaired using a number of techniques.

We then primer the wheels and cure them in a state of the art UV cure oven.

We then ‘flat sand’ the wheels off to ensure a smooth paint finish.

The wheels are painted in your chosen colour and baked.

We then lacquer the wheels with UV cure lacquer to ensure the paint will be protected. They are then baked one final time in the UV cure oven to harden.

The tyres are inflated- as we don’t remove the tyres completely there is no need for them to be rebalanced.

Wheels are fitted back to the vehicle.

Then the wheels are then torqued to manufacturer’s specification.
